Oct. 28th, 2009 10:09 amOkay, it's time to bite the "bullet" *g* and rewatch "Bulletproof" and then the rest of the S8 Lana arc. If I make it through, maybe I can begin to put it behind me and achieve some sort of peace? Strengthen me, ye gods.
I find two things a great help:
1. That entire arc was so over-the-top awful that it's hard to take it seriously. "Promise" still stings a whole lot more.

complicat's ep post. complicat writes among the best SV meta, and the ep posts are fantastic! I have them all printed out because not only are they great, we think alike on just about everything SV. Her series of posts on this abysmal arc are about the only thing that brings a smile to my face regarding this debacle.
Instead of a pic post, I spent the evening retyping my fic (which file I inadvertently blitzed) yesterday. I'm about halfway through, but the first ten pages was pretty much at the final stages, so it was largely straight recopying. The second half needs more work. I ran my last copy on 10-16 and only worked on it a couple of times since then, one of which was to add the written edits that still exist on the copy, so it won't be too bad. A few amendations will be lost, but what I gain is the opportunity to edit as I retype. Maybe I should retype every fic before I post, because I'm getting a lot clearer view of what the vague areas are and how things "read" by retyping and reading as I go. *sigh* not that I'm producing a lot of fic these days.
Off to "Bulletproof," now. Give me strength! I remember that ep being a crashing bore, and then the nasty surprise at the end of the Clana zombie resurrection...it's unkillable!
Strange thing about that S8 Lana arc: remember KK got that cute short haircut shortly before it filmed? Somehow I would've found the entire thing a shade more palatable had they let Lana return with that short 'do. It would've been a real sign that things were different now--even if they'd gone ahead as they did with the whole Clana mess. And it would've shown that Clark was capable of "loving" her even without the shiny long hair. But no, they had to give her that fake shoulder-length hair...bah.
Work 12-9 today and have an Edgar Allan Poe program this evening.
