Clex Forever! "Stray"

"Stray" is a bit sad for the Clex. Clark's new "sidekick," Ryan, is snippy and rude to Lex, and warns Clark about the "darkness" in his friend before he leaves. Luckily, the kid redeemed himself in "Ryan" in S2.
Lex also shares with Clark the story of the death of his infant brother, Julian, and it's never clarified whether Lex at this point truly believed the version he gave Clark here (having suppressed the horror of what actually happened) or whether this was the "sanitized" version the Luthors deliberately dispensed to the public in general.
Lex also veers close to leaving Smallville to join his father in Metropolis, but realizes he'd far rather stay in Smallville near Clark! I wish they'd given us a scene between the guys in which he confided to Clark, as well as to Lionel, his decision to stay!

Lex tries to engage Ryan in a comics conversation in the Talon without much success.

At times, the Clex clearly comes across clearer in the still shots than onscreen.
...Ryan who?

Clark chastises Ryan for his rudeness, and Ryan tells Clark it doesn't matter, because Lex is leaving to go back to Metropolis.

That's impossible, Clark says, because Ryan doesn't know Lex's father.

The conversation in the barn about Ryan leads Clark to inquire of Lex, "Do you ever wish you had a sibling?"

"I had one, Clark," is his reply.

Lex tells Clark how having Julian for a brother made him feel like part of a family for the very first time.

But that, sadly, his mother found the baby dead in his crib on the morning of his baptism.

It's in the past, Lex says, when Clark expresses regret.

Besides, his father would've seen to it that he and Julian hated each other, anyway.

Lex tells Clark that Lionel has offered him a chance to return to Metropolis.

That's what you wanted, isn't it? Clark says.

Lex says that he thought it was, but that now, he's not so sure.

"Lex, if anyone can choose who he wants to be, it's you."

I do believe this is the only time (that we see) that Lex rides to the farm in a limo.

He gives Clark a fencing foil, saying: "Every hero should have one."
