acampbell: (Pilot Clark)

You know, I think I'd like this show better if they'd just start calling it: "Metropolis." Then it wouldn't bug me so much that it's not much like "Smallville," any more.

I do miss the festal feeling of SV days of yore--the excitement and anticipation all during the day. Now I just think of it now and then during the day with quite mild flickers of interest in seeing what they're going to have for us.

I was truly worried when Lois fingered the dust at the farmhouse--I thought, God, she's not going to find Shelby's skeleton, I hope? But, no, thank God. We got a comparative surfeit of Shelby in this ep, all in all. I love that Lois took her (and they did call her "her," right? Even though Clark used to call the dog "him"? I always thought Shelby should be a girl, but I wish they'd make up their minds.

And, what happened to Lois's dog allergy? She didn't sneeze once...they forgot, didn't they?

I'm so glad Lana's gone, even if I'll never forgive them for the WAY they got rid of her. I can't even stand to see her skeevy face for the split second she shows up in the S8 credits.

HOLD THE BUS!!! Someone called MARTHA!! Despite the way they trashed her character, I still miss her.

Lois seemed to have a little more spunk again in this ep. I do LIKE the Clois--I just wish they'd stop beating us over the head with it. It's still better than Clana--which I HATED, and they kept beating us over the head with.

Chloe was a Clana pusher, now she's a Clois pusher. I still feel bad for the Chlarkers, even if I think it's unreasonable ever to have expected Chlark to be a couple. It must be quite akin to how we Clexers felt when they forced Lana in between the guys and made their relationship all about her--as if they'd never even been friends. But at least we KNEW our 'ship could never be canon, at least at this point in television history.

What the heck was that last picture on the screen?

You know, let me close by saying that I realize that Tess has forgotten all about Lex Luthor, after turning on him after what Miss Lana told her, but I really want to know about their relationship. When did they meet? Did they have a romance/affair? If so, when? It was before the Fortress collapsed, and it had to have been after the series began, so was it early on? After the Helen debacle and while he was boinking those 13 women? While he was courting and married to Lana? Or just in S7?

I just really want to know what was between them. I guess it'll just be another topic for the No Payoff thread.
